KURRI Kurri Cannons blew the Ettalong Memorial Eagles away to claim the Invitation Big Bowls Challenge grand final at Nelson Bay last night.

The Kurri Kurri team of Nathan Dawson, Aaron Appleby, John Green, Matt Johnson, Terry Ross and Tony Harris controlled the match right from the start.

The Cannons won all three rubbers in straight sets the singles 11-7, 15-6, the pairs 9-6 and triples 7-5, 10-3.

Coach and co-ordinator Dawson scored a maximum four shots on the 11th end to put the first set of singles beyond doubt and then converted his power play with a maximum eight shots midway through the second set to set up the victory.
